Member meeting | Resource recovery initiatives and illegal waste

This member meeting will be explore the role of recycling and resource recovery in reducing litter and illegal dumping,  highlighting programs like container refund schemes and how they have impacted littering behaviors​​. Options for land managers to effectively manage these sites or initiatives will be discussed, for example the use of permit systems and educational enforcement. 

Purpose: 

• Understand the role and opportunties for resource recovery initiatives in illegal waste management
• Understand the issues resource recovery initiatives may present local government waste management 
• Understand the tools available to manage illegal waste issues arising resource recovery initatives
